Leadership Experience
I am also my cohort’s CSDI (Communication Sciences and Disorders) Ambassador.
This isn’t leadership experience, but I am not sure if it counts: I have been an intern at the NIH for the past 6 years and was a graduate research assistant in Dr. Zhou’s Auditory Prosthesis Lab last school year.
Why did you join the Health Sciences Leadership Council?
I have always had a strong passion for representing entities with which I am associated, going all the way back to being an ambassador for my high school. Since becoming my cohort’s CSDI ambassador here at ECU, I have strengthened my abilities in interacting with a group to gather their opinions and relaying them to necessary parties. In the short time I have been a student at ECU, I have gained so many important professional and personal relationships and received an abundance of academic and professional guidance. I am absolutely thrilled to be able to use some of my new knowledge and skills to better the same institution providing them to me.
